Jim is well-known in the California wine community, with a long and distinguished reputation for wine-making and wine consulting. Jim made history by winning the "Best of Show" award for his port in 1977 at the first international competition held in the U.S. For more than 20 years, Jim taught wine appreciation courses at UC Berkeley, drawing more than 300 students each year.
